Photosynthesis is the process of making food using inorganic elements in the presence of chlorophyll and sunlight. These elemnets are carbon-dioxide(CO2) from air , water(H2O) from soil.

There is no direct use of these elements, plants convert these in simpler form.

During photosynthesis these changes are happen:-

(i)Absorbtion of sunlight by chlorophyll.
(ii) Light energy (Sunlight) is converted into chemical energy.
(iii) Water(H2O) is spilted into hydrogen and oxygen.
(iv)Reduction of carbo-dioxide into carbohydrates.

These all components of photosynthesis are neccessary. If one of these is absent then there will be no photosynthesis.

Photosynthesis can be shown in formula like this:-

6(CO2)+12(H2O)[ In the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll]------------C6H1206 (Glucose)+6(O2)+6(H2O)
