\bf\purple{Respiration\:In\:Plants}

Plants synthesise sugar [glucose] which is used during respiration to produce energy.

The glucose molecules break down, in the presence of oxygen, to release energy through a step-wise reaction.

\small\sf\boxed{Glucose+Oxygen-->CO2+H2O+Energy}

Exchanges of gases takes place by the process of diffusion through small openings present on leaf surfaces called stomata.

The stomata generally open up during the day time and remain closed at night.

Stomata also helps the plants in the process of transpiration.
