Sericulture is the science of silk production. In other words, sericulture deals with a series of events that include the rearing of the silkworms on mulberry plants, collection and processingof silkworm cocoons to extract raw silk fibers from them

process of serriculture are:-

(I) stifling = it is the killing of cocoons through hot water, dry heat, sun exposure (3 days) and fumigation.

(ii) Reeling = it means removal of silk threads from the killed cocoons.the removed silk is called raw silk.

(iii) spinning= twisting of several threads of raw silk to get fibre silk is called spinning.
