Question:

To explain the propagation of sound in:-

  • Gases
  • Liquid
  • Solids
  • Vacuum

Answer:

  1. In Gases

⟾Whenever an object vibrates into the atmosphere or simply say air in our surroundings,it disturbs the air particles causing them to vibrate in the surrounding.

⠀⠀2. In Liquids

⟾There is rapid propagation of sound in water and that is very essential for the Marine animals.

Sound travels much faster in water than in air.

⠀⠀3. In Solids

⟾Whenever sounds travels through a solid it moves faster than the liquid because of the close interaction of the molecules in the former.

⠀⠀4.In Vacuum

⟾Sound cannot travel through vacuum this is because it does not contain any particles to pass on the vibrations.

Must know:-

What is Propagation of Sound?

⟹This is the necessary medium through which sound can propagate.
