Suspensions are a heterogeneous mixture of two or more substances. Particles of the solute do not dissolve in the solvent rather they remain suspended in bulk throughout. The size of particles of suspension is large enough to be visible from naked eyes.

(iii) Particles of suspension scatter a beam of light passing through it and makes it path visible.

(iv) They can be separated from the mixture by the process of distillation.

(v) When the particles settle down , the suspension breaks and it does not scatter light any more.
