First of all hybridisation means
In chemistry, orbital hybridisation (orhybridization) is the concept of mixing atomic orbitals into new hybrid orbitals (with different energies, shapes, etc., than the component atomic orbitals) suitable for the pairing of electrons to form chemical bonds in valence bond theory.
Now for example take carbon for example
Now that carbon has four unpaired electrons it can have four equal energy bonds. The hybridization of orbitals is also greatly favored because hybridized orbitals are lower in energy compared to their separated, unhybridized counterparts. This results in more stable compounds when hybridizationoccurs
