Quantum numbers are the numbers which serves as address for the electron in the atom. these Quantum numbers are helpful to distinguish the size shape and orientation of the orbitals.
There are 4 types of Quantum Numbers:-
- Principal quantum number.
- Azimuthal quantum number.
- Magnetic quantum number.
- Spin quantum number.

Principal quantum number:- It determines the shell of the electron. It also determines the energy of the shells as well as electrons.
Azimuthal quantum number:- It determines the sub shell as well as the orbital of the electron.
Magnetic quantum number:- It determines the number of orbitals present in the subshell
Spin quantum number:- It determines the number of orbitals present in a sub shell.
