70% of our dear mother planet earth is covered with water. However, 96.5% of it is oceanic, 2.5% is freshwater of which 70% occur as icesheets and glaciers. Less than 30% of the total in Earth exist as groundwater. So you see, an entire earth cannot be satisfied only with this little amount of water . Therefore, there is always a scarcity of drinking water in the entire world.
