explain the reaction of calcium in water why isn't a fire caused why does calcium float in water

Calcium reacts with water elegantly..
Ca + H2O ---------> Ca(OH)2 + H2

Fire is caused if it comes in contact with air but water being coolant hydroxidizes it .....

Calcium has less weight and thus floats in water.
