a.During the winter season, north-east trade winds prevail over India. ... These cause winter rains over the plains and snowfall in the mountains. It is because in this region these winds blow from sea to land, thereby carrying moisture along with them.

b.The western part of Rajasthan remains almost dry during south-west monsoon Season because: These monsoon winds flow from east, dropping much of its moisture along the path. When they reach Rajasthan, they are almost dry.

c.During the South-West Monsoon, Tamil Nadu remains dry because it is located in rain shadow area. Tamil Nadu has rain during the monsoon season due to the southwest trade winds which blow towards the northern hemisphere. Tamil Nadu receives rainfall in the winter season due to northeast trade winds.

d.The Tamil Nadu coast gets maximum rainfall in October and November.

e.( The shift of the position of Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) in summer, over the Ganga plain (this is the equatorial trough normally positioned about 5°N of the equator. It is also known as the monsoon- trough during the monsoon season).

During the winter season, north-east trade winds prevail over India. They blow from land to sea and hence, for most part of the country, it is a dry season. These cause winter rains over the plains and snowfall in the mountains.

The western part of Rajasthan remains almost dry during south-west monsoon Season because: These monsoon winds flow from east, dropping much of its moisture along the path. When they reach Rajasthan, they are almost dry.

During the South-West Monsoon, Tamil Nadu remains dry because it is located in rain shadow area. Tamil Nadu has rain during the monsoon season due to the southwest trade winds which blow towards the northern hemisphere. Tamil Nadu receives rainfall in the winter season due to northeast trade winds.

In the northwest of India, October and November are usually cloudless. Tamil Nadu receives most of its annual precipitation in the northeast monsoon season. (not sure abt this)

ITCZ means the shift of the position of the intertropical convergence zone in summer over the ganga plain the equatorial through normally positioned about five degree north of the equator is also known as the monsoon through during the monsoon season.
