Hey frnd...
In the first decade of the 20th century, ‘Go-East Movement’ was launched. In 1907-08, some 300 Vietnamese nationalist students went to Japan to acquire modern education.
For many of them, the primary objective was to drive out the French from Vietnam. They wanted to overthrow the puppet emperor and tried to re-establish the Nguyen dynasty that had been deposed by the French.
These nationalists looked for foreign arms and help. They appealed to the Japanese Government as fellow Asians. They established a branch of the Restoration Society in Tokyo, but after 1908, the Japanese Ministry of Interior clamped down on them.
Hope it helps☺

In the first decade of the 20th century, about 300 Vietnamese students went to Japan seeking knowledge and this is known as 'go-east movement'. They chose Japan because it had acquired military supremacy in the recent war with Russia in 1907. With its strong military and policies it had successfully resisted colonisation. These Vietnamese formed the Restoration Society in Tokyo in 1908 to gain this knowledge from Japan and uniting with the Asian force and use the same in ousting the French from Vietnam. But this was not successful as many of them were sent to exile in China and Thailand and many more were deported.
