Explain the reason for the following statement (when heat is applied at the bottom of the water vessel,then it get heated more quickly than when it is heated at the top

The water in the vessel gets heated up faster when heated from the bottom than top because when it is heated from bottom the water gets warm and move up due to its low density. When a substance is heated then it's density decreases due to which it goes up.
