Oxygen then bonds to the iron, and it is the interaction between the heme units and the oxygen that makes blood red.” The other parts of our blood—platelets and white blood cells—have no impact on the color of our blood..

Human blood cells are red in colour due to the presence of haemoglobin in them.Hadmoglobin is the respiratory pigment contained in the RBC's surface.

Remember that a single RBC looks pale yellow in colour but when viewed together in a cluster ,they look red.
