Answer:
a When carpet is beaten with a stick, fibre of carpet comes in motion and the dust falls down due to inertia of rest. When the carpet is beaten with a stick, the fibres of the carpet come in motion and hence move forward.
b A luggage is usually tied with a rope on the roof of buses. When a moving bus suddenly stops, the luggage on its roof tends to continue in the state of motion due to inertia of motion. Hence the luggage fall down from the roof of the bus.
c A bowler runs a long distance before bowling because it wants to give speed to the ball and hence, momentum. After running the distance, when the bowler leaves the ball on reaching the line, he imparts the momentum gained by running to the ball.
