Experiment
Take a piece of chart paper and roll it like a calendar.
You'll be able to see the other side if you hold one end of the rolled paper to your eye.
However, if you bend the rolled paper and then try to see the other end, you won't be able to do that.
This proves that light travels in a straight path.
