Answer: At the time of sunrise and sunset the sun is near the horizon. During this passage of blue light of short white light scattered and red light reaches us of larger wave length giving reddish appearance.

due to the refractive index of our atmosphere we see the sunrise and senset 2 min early and 2 min delayed
constituents of light are dispersec in this process , every colour is dispersed instead of red colour cause red is least dispersed
Due to this reason we see the colour red.
