Explain the refining of aluminium.

aluminium is further purified by Hooper's process .The electrolytic cell consists of an iron box lined inside with carbon .The lowest layer consists of impure aluminium which act as anode.

Aluminium Oxide mainly extracted from the bauxite in the modern refinery.


Bayer process is used to extract alumina from bauxite then the Alumina will be separated from bauxite with hot solution of caustic soda as well as lime.


The mixture are pumped into high-pressure containers with the heat.


Caustic soda dissolved as alumina then precipitates with saturated aspects.
