Explain the reign of terror for 5 marks with simple points

The period from 1793-94 was referred to as reign of terror .Because Robespierre followed a policy of severe control and punishment .All those whom he saw as enemies-ex nobles and clergy , member of some political party even the member of his own party who did not agree with his policies were punished, imprisoned and tried by a revolutionary tribunal .If they were found guilty they were guillotined.
