crossing over produces new combinations of allels not new allels but new combinations which can result in new phenotypes or increased variety types of phenotypes this way there increased genotype variation but the actual genes are still the same ones
hope this it helps to u.........................plz make me as brainly ☺

Crossing over is a process that happens between homologous chromosomes in order to increase genetic diversity.

  • In the development process of egg and sperm cells, the DNA exchange between the homologous chromosomes pair is the crossing over-described.
  • This plays an important role in a genetic variation also.
  • Due to the crossing over process new set of genes developed.
  • So, the crossing over process has a direct relationship with the genetic variation.
