In simple words, GEOGRAPHY is the study of earth and our surrounding is known as the ENVIRONMENT... The relation between them is that geography helps to define all the different types of activities (whether it be harmful or not) that occurs in the environment.

Geography and environment are inter-related.
1. Location determines environment
Equatorial location, tropical location, sub tropical location, polar location, coastal location, desert location, riverine plains, mountainous regions etc. All these locations will have different environment.
2. Topography and structure
Types of rocks, soil, slope, mineral content etc. will determine the type of vegetation and animal life alongwith the environment. They are all interrelated and affect each other.
3. Human habitations
It will depend on mineral resources, water resources, biodiversity resources, nature of topography(rugged or smooth, steep slope or plains) etc. These alongwith climatic conditions determine the residential, industrial, agricultural, transportation and many other aspects of of human life. Humans affect as well as are affected by the environmental and geographical conditions.
