i) Chief Minister acts as a link between the Governor and Council of ministers: It is the Chief Minister who conveys all the decisions of the Council of ministers to the Governor. He or she has to furnish such information relating to the administration of the State as the Governor may call for.
ii) To aid and advise the Governor: The Governor appoints a large number of top officials of the state. He or she also summons prorogues the sessions of the state legislature. All such powers are exercised by the Governor on the advice of the Chief Minister.
