Identification is a related term of identity. Identity is a distinguishing factor or a characteristic of an individual. Whereas as identification is the act of identifying or figuring out. Your identification tells who you are for instance if you are known by the work you do then that is your identification and identity is who you are, which you create yourself on the basis of your character or a unique trait.
