Explain the relationship between work, energy and power.
Answers
Following are the required Relation :-
Work
Work is said to be done when a force is applied on a body and this applied force causes a displacement of a body in the direction of applied force.
Work = Force × Displacement (in the direction of applied force)
or, W = FScos∅
S.I unit of Work is Joule.

Energy
The ability or capacity to do work.
S.I unit of Energy is Joule.
Without energy, work done is impossible.
Energy lose = Work done by Body
Energy Gain = Work done on object.
Remember that
During a work done, the body which does a work in an object results in lose in energy while the object in which work is done results in gain in energy. Thus, work and energy is correlated to each other in this way.

Power
The rate at which the work is done. Power is dependent on time while work (or energy) is independent of time. S.I unit of Power is Watt.
Power = Work/Time

Relationship between work,energy and power:-
- Work, energy and power are dependent on each other.
- Work is defined as a force causing the displacement of an object.
- Work is the product of force and displacement.
- Work=F×S
- The SI unit of work is the joule (J).
- Energy can be defined as the capacity for doing work.
- Energy are of two types, that is Kinetic and Potential energy.
- Power is work done in unit time.
- Power =
- Work and energy are directly proportional to each other.
