Formaldehyde > Acetaldehyde > Benzaldehyde
- Acetaldehyde has a comparitively bulky group attached to carbonyl group which obstructs the attack of Nucleophile that is why it is less reactive than formaldehyde.
- Secondly carbon atom of carbonyl group in benzaldehyde is less electrophilic than of Acetaldehyde , that is why acetaldehyde is more reactive.
