Resistivity of a conductor is a property of the material out of the which the conductor is made. It is given by the Greek symbol Rho. It is the proportionality constant which determines the resistance of the conductor of specific dimensions(R=(resisitivity) (length)/(Area of cross section). The inverse of resistivity is conductivity. The resistivity of a material gives us a measure of how much the atoms of the material restricts the flow of the current passing through it.

for finding of resistance we use the resistivity ,
let L length of a conducting wire which cross section area A , R is resistance of given material and ρ is the resistivity .

R =ρL/A
