There are gases present in water. These gases are like oxygen to the aquatic animals. They will survive by inhaling this gases. In this respiration is done in aquatic animals

Aquatic animals can breathe the oxygen that is dissolved in water . Fishes take in water through their mouths and force it past the gills where the dissolved oxygen is taken up by blood.
