Explain the result of land revenue system

The East India Company introduced permanent land settlement for Bengal, Bihar and Orissa in 1793. Under this system British rulers appointed tax farmers as landlords known as Jamidars/ Jagirdars. These tax farmers have to pay fixed commission to East India Company.

  • if the crops failed due to flood the state granted remission of revenue.
