 Revolt \: Of \: Meerut:

⏩The Revolt of 1857 started in Meerut.

⏩The Revolution of 1857, understood differently by different class of people, started on 10 May 1857 in Meerut when soldiers of 3 Bengal Native Cavalry mutinied on the evening of 10th.

⏩It started as a mutiny in the army and turned into a revolution when the commonfolk joined it en masse.

⏩The Revolution is considered as the First War of Independence by some, while some consider it merely a sepoy mutiny and not a revolution that was a collective movement of the masses to overthrow the British and reinstate British authority.
