Rice is the most important crop of India and widely cultivated throughout India. In the north it is kharif crop and in the south it can cultivated throughout the year if irrigation is available.
India is second largest producer of rice in the world.
a)Temperature:-Monthly temperature of about 24°C. Bright sunshine and water is essential during the ripening stage.
b)Rainfall:- It need abundant rainfall ranging between 250cm to 300cm.
c)Season:-Rainy season between June to August.
d)States:-West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab,Assam, Maharashtra.
