1. Many biotic and abiotic factors helps in soil formation.
2. The main factors are rocks which is abiotic helps in soil formation
3. Then The rain, also effects it and errosions also.
4. Along with these all many factors of environment come together and formed the soil.
5. The time required to form one layer of soil is 1000 to 1200 years.

Role of biotic factors in soil formation:

Organisms play important role in soil formation. Plants and animals both are equally important for formation of soil. Plants when grow in the rocks their roots break break the rocks into smaller pieces and eventually those rocks turn into soil.

Lichens also when grow on rocks release some chemicals which help in breaking of rock into smaller pieces and then into soil.

Role of Abiotic Factors in Soil Formation :

Factors like water, sunlight, climate, air, etc., also play important roles in soil formation.

Water and air when collide with rocks with force they tend to break the rocks over a period of time these smaller piecea of rocks are turned into soil throught various biotic and abiotic factors then.

Climate changes and Sunlight also break down large rocks in smaller pieces and then turning them into soil. With the change in climate, the temprature of rocks change too. When the climate is hot, rock expands and when temprature is decreased rocks tend to shrink this continuous shrinking and expansion in rocks break them into smaller pieces leading to formation of soil.
