Functions:

1) bile salts help in emulsification and absorption of lipids.

2) bile salts help in micelle formation of fatty acids

3) absorption of fat soluble vitamin

4) providing alkaline environment for intestinal juices to act.

5) neutralizing excess acidic chyme.
