Of course, Communist parties are the some of the oldest parties. Their presence through out the pre and post independence make them regard them in a high position.  They give priority to their ideology and morals. Their's is a ideological and committed party rather than the parties which evolve out of emotions and angers with out much thinking and intellectual capacity to work. The Communist parties were backed intellectually by it's leaders who are highly educated. The initial Communist movements were initiated by MN Roy, SA Dange, Muzaffar Ahmed and many others who deserve a lot of credits for bringing the cadres into unison by sticking to ideals, which is rather very difficult given the state of human mind-which is uncommon not be selfish. Later on, many leaders like Sundarayya, BT Ranadive, AK Gopalan, EMS Nabudiripad, Jyothi Basu and many other leaders built the organizational structure amid much difficulties. The rest is known.
