The process of grinding, chewing and spreading of food in the oral cavity with the help of teeth, tounge and saliva is called mastication process.

There are 4 types of teeth in our mouth:-

  • Incisors
  • Canines
  • Molars
  • Premolàrs

Functions of teeth:-

  • Incisors - Breakdown of food or chopping
  • Canines - tearing the food
  • Molars - Grinding the food in mouth
  • Premolars - Grinding the food in mouth
