Answers
Education played an important role in the national movement of Vietnam. The French introduced education in Vietnam as a tool of colonial subjugation but the people of Vietnam used it as a weapon to fight Colonialism.
The teachers of Vietnam opposed and resisted the curriculum introduced in schools which was colonial in nature. They even modified it and created patriotic feeling among students.
Similarly the young educated youth of Vietnam came to know about the modern concept of liberty and equality and wished the same for their people. The educated youth were inspired by nationalistic feelings and regard it as a duty to work for the benefit of nation. In 1920s, they began to form parties and publish papers against the French and criticized their colonial rule. Some students went to Japan and work from there against the colonial rule of France.
The students also protested against the outstation of a Vietnamese girl from school. She was ousted on the issue of front seat which created anger among students against the colonial authorities. In short, the educated people were in fore front against the colonial rule of France and thus played an important role in National Movement of Vietnam.
