Digestive enzymes are chemicals that break down the building blocks of food into smaller structures. This makes the good easier to digest and will allow the body to absorb the nutrients required from the food. Their role is to ensure that the chemical reactions for all this to occur happens as fast as possible and in the correct manner. Without them, the process slows down or does not function as well as it should.
