Explain the role of fuse in series with an electrical appliance in electric circuit why should a fuse with 5 rating for electric circuit not be replaced by one with the larger rating

A fuse is simply a preventor it prevents shock circuits ,when ever we put a fuse in a circuit then the fuse prevents further damaging of appliances due to shock circuit

We should not put a 5A fuse in a circuit having more current rating otherwise the fuse will melt and prevent the current to pass(break the circuit).

A fuse helps in series connection because in a series connection if one fuses then the others also fuse.
