the himalayas are a massive natural barrier between the indian subcontinent and the eurasian plate . during winters , the himalayas prevent the subcontinent from getting too cold it blocks the cold , dry ,arctic winds from siberia and central asia from entering india and mantain a higher , pleasant temerature in the subcontinent
