Heyaa folk,
Lightning conductor :
Lightning conductor is used for preventing lightning from big buildings. The lightning conductor is very tall, pointed on its top. So there is opposite electric charge induced on it when there is lightning. So the charges in the lightning get attracted to the conductor. Phenomenon of Static Electricity Induction.
It is simply structured as,
At the building's top there's a top rod which is made up of metals. Then there's wire at the middle. At last forwarded, it's a metalic rod which is passed directly in the ground.
So, when first lightning strikes, it attracted towards lightning conductor. Then this lightning current passes through wire and then passes through metallic rod into the ground.
Thus, damage gets avoided. Hence, there is a important role of lightning conductor to protect big buildings.
Hope it helps u :)
