Macronutrients are those elements that are required by the plants in large quantities. Example: Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, oxygen and Phosphorus.
Some of the functions of these are:
-Structural units
-Redox sensitive agents
-They affect the yield, growth and the quality of the crop
-Each macronutrient has their own specific functions that affect the metabolism of the plant

- Nitrogen (N)
- Sulfur (S)
- Carbon (C)
- Oxygen(O)
Role:
- Growth and development
- Provide energy.
- Create new plant cells and tissues.
