As mouth have salivary glands which secretes enzyme (salivary amylase) and this enzyme help in the digestion of carbohydrates

the saliva in the mouth makes the food wet, smooth and makes it suitable for further digestion. That contains enzymes that help break down the proteins in the food into smaller molecules.
