Hii.. Here is your answer..

The pancreas secretes pancreatic juice which contains enzymes like trypsin and lipase, amylase.,etc.
These enzymes play an important role in digestion of proteins and carbohydrates.

= Trypsin=>is an enzyme secreated by pancreas which acts upon protein in alkaline medium and help to digest protein into amino acids.
= Amylase=> It helps in breaking down the carbohydrates or starch and change them into glucose.

The role of pancreatic juice in the digestion of proteins and carbohydrates is explained below:

  • Food from the oesophagus is passed to the pancreas from the stomach.
  • Digested food from the stomach is known as chyme.
  • The pancreas secretes many enzymes such as trypsin, chymotrypsin, lipase and amylase.
  • Digestion of carbohydrates is performed by amylase while trypsin and chymotrypsin digest proteins.
  • Trypsin and chymotrypsin convert proteins into amino acids and act in the small intestine.
  • Amylase converts carbohydrates into glucose.
