a global economy could not be imagined without devlopment of transport and communication.railways,steam engins ,telegraphs have played great role towards flourishing of trade.distances between distant places were shortened.fast moving trains were brought,ships were enlarged.for example,meat was nut exported from americe to europe til 1870 animals were shipped live,which occupy much space.due to devlopment of refrigeration technology it installed in large distance ship .now meat could be transported over large distances more easily and cheaply.

The role of technology in flourishing the trade during the late nineteenth century are as follows;

(i) Transformation of the world economy: Technology performed a significant role in all the kind of developments. Railroads, steam shipping, the communications, etc. were major discoveries without which it was not probable to envision the transformation of the nineteenth-century world.

(ii) Linking the markets: New investments and developments in transportation such as high-speed railways, moderate wagons, and bigger ships assisted to move food more economically and quickly from distant away fields to final markets.

(iii) Social peace and Imperialism: The refrigerated vessels reduced transportation cost and reduced meat prices in Europe. The poor in Europe could now consume more diverse food. Better living circumstances advanced social peace inside the nation and support for Imperialism elsewhere.

(iv) Colonialism: Technology performed a very significant role in connecting the world markets which developed the essence of colonialism.
