- Hydrochloric acid contributes to protein digestion by supplying H+ which activates pepsinogen, the precursor to pepsin.
Bile :-
- It breaks down fats into fatty acids, which can be taken into the body by the digestive tract.
Anal sphincter :-
- This sphincter prevents the acidic contents of the stomach from moving upward into the esophagus. The pyloric sphincter, at the lower end of the stomach.
Villi :-
- The villi of the small intestine project into the intestinal cavity, greatly increasing the surface area for food absorption and adding digestive secretions.

- The main function of HCL is to provide the necessary H+ for the Activation of pepsinogen into pepsin. Approximately 2 litres of HCL is secreted daily into our stomach. It also serves the purpose of protection by killing some bacteria by the high acidic environment.
Bile :-
- Bile is a fluid that is made and released by the liver and stored in the gallbladder. Bile helps with digestion. It breaks down fats into fatty acids, which can be taken into the body by the digestive tract.
Anal Sphincter :-
- The external anal sphincter is composed of skeletal muscle that functions like other postural muscles in the body. It is a voluntary muscle that responds to volitional commands to contract and maintain continence when feces are propelled through a relaxed internal anal sphincter into the rectum.
Villi :-
- The structure of the small intestine is designed for absorption of nutrients. The inside of the small intestine is lined with villi that absorb nutrients from the liquid mixture called chyme produced in the stomach from the food we eat.
