It used to be that nearly everyone in the West who received an education studied Classical languages and civilizations, so Greek and Latin seemed natural choices for scientific terminology, including binomial nomenclature for naming species. Some argue that in the modern day, these terms should be retired, since fewer people are learning Greek and Latin. However, Classical education has been making a comeback in schools more recently.........

As we know biology is spread through out the world from many years.... may be in some old books the only latin and greek are used to define all the things in bio. and as time pass they changed into English so that everyone can understand the meaning..
