Various vitamins and minerals are required by our body to maintain itself, continue growth, and to do several life processes. Ex- Vitamin A is needed for good vision and it's deficiency can cause night blindness, Vitamin D is required for stong bones and teeth, etc.

Vitamins and minerals are considered essential nutrients—because acting in concert, they perform hundreds of roles in the body. They help shore up bones, heal wounds, and bolster your immune system. They also convert food into energy, and repair cellular damage.
