In December 1927 Ambedkar led a Satyagraha to establish the civic rights of the untouchables to draw water from a public tank Chavdar Talen at Mahar, in Kolaba drisrict. Three years later in 1930, he led another Satyagraha to establish the untouchable's right to enter the famous temple of kalaram at Nasik.
