Due to the absorption of water and minerals from soil a pressure is build up in plant body is known as Root Pressure ..that is responsible for ascent of sap..

In root system a water transport from root system to shoot system through a xylem , but in root  part a main roll complete this process is root hairs, this are take it water and minerals from soil and transport root to shoot system.. nice qution.
