The route of Gulf Stream current:
Gulf stream is formed near "Gulf of Mexico" then crosses the east coast of United States and then moves further to north Atlantic ocean. Gulf stream is a kind of powerful ocean current that plays a very important role in the regulation of temperature.
This stream originates near the coast of Mexico in Gulf of Mexico, it circulates there for some time then moves northwards to Caribbean islands and east coast of United States. In US it passes near coast of Florida. It stays near the coast and moves with a speed of approximately nine kilometers per hour.
While moving in north it meets North Atlantic ocean current and then goes as far as coast of England and Ireland. Extensive researches have shown that it play an important role in regulating temperature of northern Europe, particularly England and Ireland. Being warm current it has huge impact on marine life as warm water facilities grown of phytoplankton.
