No one can give or transfer a better title than what he has, a general belief says that no one can give what he does not have or possess, a person who is not the owner of a good cannot sell without the owner’s consent and any buyer of such good acquire no better title than the owner.

The following are some of the exceptions to the rule,

Where the original owner assisted in the sale of the goods

Where the original owner is standing by while the process of sales is going on.

Where the owner permits the goods to go to the possession of another person.
