Commerce student have a good future in banking and financial institutions. There are various subjects studied under commerce stream some being theoretical like Business Law and others being practical like Financial accounting, Business finance, Auditing, Taxation etc. Every subject deals with different category of functioning of business.
Commerce graduates are eligible for most of the post in government offices, banks and defense services like IAS, PSC, RBI, IBPS, RAILWAY, SSC, SI, Income Tax Officer etc for these post must have to clear the examination conducted by concerned authority. There is account and finance department in each and every company where you will get preference over others. Auditing firms , payroll accounting ,Finance executive ,Investment banker, UK and Us tax profiles are the examples where you can land a job.
Commerce students planning for further studies can take up careers in professional fields such as Company secretory , Chartered accountant, CFA and so on. CA is considered as one of the toughest examination and while doing CA, students should be aware of the fact that every year only a marginal percentage of candidates qualify for these examinations. It is better to pursue professional programs along with graduation or after graduation so as to fetch lucrative job opportunities. Therefore a lot of students choose to do B. Com with a specialization in computers before going for CA degree.
Others can take up bachelor's degree in commerce (B.com), followed by m.com, PhD and M.Phil for teaching as a profession.Can also go for BBA followed by MBA.There are wide range of career opportunities for commerce graduates.
